Keeping Kids Safe is a community education program designed for parents and guardians to provide them with practical skills to help keep children safe from dangerous or abusive situations and risky behaviors. In the last installment of the Demystifying the Teen Brain Speaker Series, parents/guardians will learn the signs and symptoms of trauma due to a variety of factors, including substance misuse, bullying, sexual abuse, physical assault and the improper use of technology. In addition, parents/guardians will learn how to use age appropriate language, create family safety rules and what to do if a child discloses something has happened to them.
